The main reasons are as follows.

1 Improper assembly

1. Improper assembly between the outer ring of the bearing and the bearing seat hole or between the inner ring of the bearing and the shaft during assembly.

During the assembly process, the inner holes were not polished and the dimensions were measured, and then a new bearing was replaced for assembly. After the test run, it was found that the temperature increased too high. When disassembling and checking the volume, it was found that the bearing seat hole was deformed, causing the outer ring of the bearing to be squeezed, resulting in a smaller radial clearance of the bearing, uneven rotation of the rolling element, and increased wear. The gap between the inner ring of the bearing and the shaft is too large, and the inner ring of the bearing rotates with the rolling element and shaft, and friction causes the bearing to heat and vibrate.

2. Improper control of bearing heating temperature during assembly.

When the temperature of the bearing heater is too high during the heating operation, it can cause tempering and reduce hardness and accuracy, which will increase the bearing temperature and cause increased wear and damage to the bearing.

3. Improper adjustment of bearing clearance during assembly.

In practical work, many devices can only be debugged through touch, and the gap is too large or too small to meet production needs. If the axial clearance is too small, it is easy to cause bearing heating, accelerate pitting, and even cause the rolling element to get stuck or damage the joint; If the axial clearance is too large, the impact force of the moving pair will increase, and the stiffness will decrease, which will lead to production during operation. Abnormal sound can even cause severe vibration or damage to the cage.

2 Oil seal issues

Oil seal is a sealing element used to seal the oil of the rotating shaft in mechanical equipment, and the cavity is basically static, so oil seal is also known as the rotating shaft lip seal. For oil seals with auxiliary lips, the auxiliary lip plays a dustproof role and prevents impurities from entering to extend the service life of the oil seal. However, the auxiliary lip usually has poor lubrication and high friction, leading to dry friction and damage to the oil seal. Therefore, when installing the double lip oil seal, please ensure that the gap between the lips is filled with grease.

3 Gap issues

During the assembly process, if the size of the gasket is not carefully checked and assembly testing is not carried out, the temperature will rapidly increase after a period of time. The size of the outer ring of the bearing is determined by the stop of the end cover and bearing seat. The size of the spacer decreases, and the size of the inner ring will be adjusted by a circular nut, compressed, and the axial clearance of the bearing will decrease, which will cause it to generate heat during operation.
